Risk of crashing is four times higher when you are on call while driving, While Driving, But Do you really think that Hands-Free Phones are Safer than Hand-Held?

It is a general belief that making a call on Hands-Free is much safer than of Hands-Held while driving. A survey conducted by the National Safety Council of America showed that every four out of five Americans believe in this but the fact is utterly opposite to it. It does not matter whether you are using the hands-free or held devices while driving, the risk of crashing rises four times higher than when you are not on call when driving.

After a thorough study of 30 case studies, the safety researchers believe that “inattention blindness” is the major problem where driver’s ability to perceive what they sees is reduces many times as their concentration is on the phone conversation and not on the driving or surroundings. Almost all major automakers have introduced in-car infotainment systems, enabling the drivers to check and update their social media status, make and answer phone calls and text.

National Safety Council strongly criticise them as according to research, they are more hazardous than beneficial, even in some cases the toll can be losing precious human lives. A safety concerned group conducted a poll and found that more than half of the respondents strongly believe that hands-free technology is absolutely safe to use otherwise their vehicles would not have been equipped with it at all.
