Football fever has gripped the whole world with every one tuning in to watch their favourite teams play. Great teams are often full of great players and it is the same in this world cup too. After a lot of banter in our office we have came up with our top 10 players and too make it more exciting their super luxury cars have also been listed alongside. Enjoy the World cup!

 

Lionel Messi – Argentina & Barcelona

There are no surprises as to who is number one when you think of all Messi has achieved in a relatively short career so far. Messi is consistently rated as the best player in the world at present and one of the greatest of all time. There are many reasons why, when Messi plays well Barcelona plays well which often leads to the Catalan club being labelled as a one man team. Yes they do have other great players, but Messi has been the catalyst to the club’s success both domestically and in Europe.

A four time Ballon d’Or winner, Messi has received the award on the last four occasions which is a record as well as being selected for the FIFA World XI for the last six years running. He also became the first player ever to score against every team in La Liga when he netted against Celta Vigo in March 2012. Messi remains the best player in the world and it will be a long time before anyone dethrones the Argentine superstar. He drives a Maserati with a V8 450bhp.

Cristiano Ronaldo – Portugal & Real Madrid

The 28 year old’s goal record for Spanish giants Real Madrid is nothing short of phenomenal. Averaging more than a goal a game with 197 strikes in 195 matches.  He continues to have an ongoing rivalry with Lionel Messi for world’s best player and although it is the Argentine forward that usually comes out on top, the Portuguese winger is certainly not far behind.

He received the Ballon d’Or award during his playing days with Manchester United and has been voted Portuguese footballer of the year on the last eight occasions. Not to mention that Ronaldo is the second most expensive player in history following an £80 million from Old Trafford to the Santiago Bernabeu. His 60 league goals for Los Blancos in his first season helped him to a first La Liga trophy. Befitting his name Ronaldo has just received the brand new La Ferrari worth a whopping £1.15 million.

Mario Balotelli – Italy & AC Milan

Mario Balotelli is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club A.C. Milan and the Italian national team. Agile, quick and powerful Balotelli is credited with pace, strength, and technical ability, but criticized for a perceived poor and immature attitude at times. He drives a Ferrari F12 with a V12 engine and delivers 730bhp.

Robin Van Persie – Netherlands & Manchester United

Having put the injury problems that blighted Van Persie throughout his mid-20s behind him, the Dutchman is now one of the most feared strikers in world soccer. Manchester United procured the player from Arsenal in 2012 and it proved a masterful signing as he picked up where he had left off at the Emirates Stadium with goals galore to fire United to the 2012-13 Premier League title. Philipp Lahm – Germany & Bayern Munich

The Bayern Munich fans love him, Pep Guardiola adores him. Philipp Lahm has been a stalwart for club and country over the last decade. The versatile Germany international can play in both of the full-back positions, while Guardiola has also used him as a defensive midfielder, such is his high opinion of Lahm’s tackling and distribution skills. Andres Iniesta – Spain & Barcelona

The Spanish national team’s key player is arguably the best midfielder in the world today. His goal against the Netherlands in the 2010 World Cup final cemented his place in the history books and at the end of 2012 he was voted third in the running for the Ballon d’Or, which was ultimately won by teammate Lionel Messi. Andres Iniesta has the most expensive car of them all,a £2 million  Bugatti Veyron with 1183bhp and W16 engine.

Wayne Rooney – England & Manchester United

Wayne Rooney is an English footballer who plays as a forward for Manchester United and the England national team. Much has been said about whether he has truly lived up to his potential but there is no doubt Rooney is still considered among the best in the world and he is arguably the finest English player of his generation. Rooney drives a special Range Rover modified by the guys at Overfinch. It has 545bhp with an impressive V8 engine under the bonnet.

Didier Drogba – Ivory Coast & Galatasaray

Didier Drogba, is an Ivorian professional footballer who plays as a striker. He is the captain and all-time top scorer of the Ivory Coast national team, and has played in that role for Le Mans, Guingamp, Marseille, Chelsea, Shanghai Shenhua and Galatasaray. Neymar – Brazil & Barcelona

Neymar is another graduate of the Santos academy, and a player who has made a stunning impact in his teens, it is inevitable that Neymar has become one of them. The early indications are that this hugely talented forward might just have the potential to join the ranks of Brazil greats.
