Drivers and Vehicle Licencing Agency is under fire as they introduce changes in driving licence rules and the website crashes

After the new rules have been introduced by DVLA, widely predicted technical hitches have continued. Very high rates of traffic on the DVLA website are causing frequent crashes to it.

The majority of the traffic comes from the British drivers around the globe. They are trying to access their driving records and are left with no results in the reply. The paper part of the driving licence was abolished by the agency last week.

According to the new scheme, drivers who need their driving record to hire a car abroad or within the country, should access the website of DVLA for required information.

Since it was launched by the agency on Monday, the website traffic has increased along with the frustration of British drivers across the globe.  DVLA website is crashing frequently and showing an error message, according to the Guardian.

Many drivers from across the world have expressed their anger at the DVLA on Twitter. Kristine Dillon, from London, has reported the problem while she was in Canada.

She tried to hire a car in Toronto and tried to access the DVLA website to have her driving licence record.

The AA also faced problem in accessing records when they were in need to provide the national insurance number. The AA was one of the organisations who warned the agency that the new scheme will create difficulties.

The AA said some of its members have had problems and they were stumped by the need to supply a national insurance number.  President of AA said, “There have been problems for some of our members. We have heard that a number have found the DVLA website very slow.”
