First Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up after travelling only 891 miles

As the Chevy fans have been waiting for their favourite Z06, a legendary supercar with 650 horsepower Chevrolet engine. It costs you about $78,000. When you buy yourself a powerful supercar like the Corvette Z06, the last thing you expect is for the engine to eat itself. But that’s exactly what happened to this guy after only 891 miles on the clock!

The incident happened last Friday when Corvette forum member Lawdogg149 was driving to put more miles on the clock in preparation for a track day event in January.

According to owner Lawdogg: ‘’While making a pull from 35mph I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom. Car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. Could hear a loud knock coming from cylinder No-6 area along with a serious grinding metal on metal sound coming from the supercharger area.’’

Overall 2014 was a bad year for them because they issued massive recalls, faced lawsuits and much more. Chevrolet Corvette is a part of General Motors. The only good news for the owner is that GM will cover his car engine under the replacement warranty. This will set back GM about $24,000.
