No more mistakes with finding a fast car with an ideal muscly engine.

No doubt, all the vehicles of BMW are so amazing that everyone wants to write about them. Similarly, it’s my wish to write about my favourite car by BMW. Therefore, this article covers all the salient features of BMW 218i Coupe.

Engine:

From March 2015, new entrance-level engines, a further four-wheel drive model and extra equipment options will enhance the diversity of features accessible for the BMW 2 Series Coupe. Along with the market launch of the new BMW 218i Coupe, a strong three-cylinder petrol engine from the BMW Group’s recent engine family will be featured for the first time in the brand’s sporty and striking compact model. State-of-the-art BMW Twin Power Turbocharged technology featured on the new power unit supplies a maximum power output of 100 kW/136 hp and ideal efficiency (combined consumption of fuel: 5.6 – 5.1 liters; combined emissions of CO2: 130 – 118 g/km).

With its exemplary sporting characteristics and both dynamic and classic design, the BMW Series Coupe is absolutely unparalleled in its class. All thanks to the diversity of the engine portfolio and a mixed range of equipment options, the compact two-door car also proposes the ideal prerequisites for bespoke riding pleasure. Starting in the spring of 2015, there will be a choice of three diesel and four petrol engines, including the latest entry-level power unit, whose brand-typical performance characteristics amalgamated with a four-wheel drive concept that is simply unique in the premium compact segment, will assure a particularly intensive driving experience. Compact, muscular, persuasive in character: The sturdy new three-cylinder petrol engine along with BMW Twin Power Turbo technology featured in the impressive BMW 218i Coupe.

Responsiveness, running smoothness and proficiency characterise

the three-cylinder petrol engine presented in the new BMW 218i Coupe. From a cubic capacity of probably 1.5 liters, the newly developed power unit efficiently delivers a maximum output of 100 kW/136 hp and maximum torque of 220 Nm available at 1,250 rpm. The car’s BMW Twin Power Turbo technology consists of a supercharger that is carefully integrated into the exhaust manifold, a further developed and smart direct petrol injection system, the recent version of the variable valve control system VALVETRONIC and the Double VANOS variable camshaft control. The new power unit is traditionally positioned lengthwise at the very front under the bonnet. Its low weight aids the well-balanced load distribution of probably 50:50 between the front and back axle.

The new BMW 218i Coupe accelerates from 0-100 km/h in only 8.8 seconds (automatic: 8.9 seconds). Top speed is 212 km/h in all cases. The spirited power delivery during acceleration is paired by a distinctively sporty sound of engine. Moreover, the character of the three-cylinder engine is featured by brand-typical running smoothness. In terms of vibration behavior, the engine displays parallels to BMW’s straight six-cylinder power unit and characterizes a forged steel roller-bearing supported balancer shaft in order to lessen vibration.

Like wise, a further developed transmission also plays its part towards the outstanding efficiency of the new model variants. Marvelously equipped with the standard 6-speed manual (non-automatic) transmission, the new BMW 218i Coupe has an average consumption of fuel  5.6 to 5.1 liters per 100 km ( level of CO2 emission: 130 to 118 grams per km). In conjunction with the smart 8-speed Steptronic transmission, the corresponding figures are in between 5.5 and 5.1 liters and 129 and 118 grams respectively.

In a nutshell, BMW 218i coupe comprises a strong, active and latest engine with striking body design. It is truly a clever choice.
